A Creative Coding Exhibition by Sally Mallat, Ali Al Saqban, & Mahmoud Hamdy
American University of Sharjah, College of Architecture, Art and Design Curated by: Professor Hala Al Ani; Professor Riem Hassan; Professor Naz Naddaf
Hello World, مرحباً بالعالم explores the intersection of computation and Arabic typography, presenting animated typeforms that emerge from algorithmic processes. Using basic mathematical functions to layer and animate letterforms—through sine waves, parametric transformations, and recursive patterns. The exhibition reimagines Arabic script as dynamic and evolving structures.
Through discretization, modular letterforms, and generative design, it reveals how computation and movement can redefine the aesthetics of Arabic typography. The exhibition invites audiences to experience the poetic possibilities of code-driven letterforms in motion.
